Sher grew up spending most weekends, holidays and vacations riding horses out of the Yosemite Stables in Yosemite National Park. Although she wasn’t able to own a horse in her childhood, it was always her dream. After college, she and her husband settled down in Sonoma Co. and within a month she had her first horse. Her lifelong passion has now become her livelihood. After fiddling with a variety of breeds and disciplines, Sher now focuses her western training on the Centered Riding method, matching her seat and position to the biomechanics of the horse. She is currently coached by Donna Snyder Smith, to whom she attributes much of her success. Always seeking further knowledge, Sher has also taken most of the Equine Science courses both at SRJC as well as Feather River College in Quincy. Her goal is to provide each and every horse with the highest quality of training, preparing them for whatever may come along in their lives. Her philosophy: they are so generous; they give us their lives. Isn’t it only right to give back only the best to them?
